Campus Technology Recognizes Via Global’s Intake & Program Match
Via’s Traveler Intake and Program Match received the 2022 New Product Award from Campus Technology, one of higher education’s top information sources.
Released last October, Via’s Traveler Intake and Program Match for Via Global was named a platinum winner in the Constituent Relationship Management System category. The Campus Technology awards honor manufacturers and suppliers whose products or services are noteworthy in the transformation of education technology.
“We’re always striving to innovate our software solutions to improve the user experience for students and admin alike,” says Lisa Stern, Via’s Chief Client Officer. “We’re proud to have our products recognized in this way.”
The awards program was launched in 2020 by The Education Group of 1105 Media, Campus Technology’s parent company, to recognize leading product and service providers in the education sector.
Via Engages Travelers Earlier in the Process
Via’s Traveler Intake is a series of questions that travelers are prompted to answer after first creating their Via account. The information gathered helps align travelers with their ideal program. It also gives administrators key data points to engage travelers and help them plan and prepare for upcoming terms.
Program Match is Via’s proprietary program matching engine and is designed to help travelers find programs that best meet their needs. If travelers answer all of the questions in Program Match, the algorithm provides a match percentage for all programs available within an organization.
“We have 850 students in our system that we never would have met last year at this time in our previous software because the students weren’t visible to us until they applied,” Eckman says. “Now we can work with early stage students. It’s a game changer.”
So where did the idea come from for Via’s Traveler Intake and Program Match? From the international education community, says Chelsea Balderson, Via’s Product Manager.
“Our No. 1 goal is to make the workday easier for IE professionals,” Balderson says. “To achieve that goal requires actively listening to both clients and nonclients alike. We can then combine those ideas with our design and technical expertise to innovate products like Traveler Intake and Program Match.”
